Privacy
ICD10Ref is owned and operated by HH People Solutions LLC. This page explains what the site stores and what it does not.
The short version
- There are no accounts and no sign-up. We do not ask you for personal information to use the site.
- Your Recents, Favorites, My notes and light or dark setting stay in your browser. They are not sent to us.
- Search runs in your browser. What you type in the search box is never sent to us.
- The site uses Google Analytics to count visits, which can set cookies in your browser. Details and opt-out choices are below.
Never enter patient information (PHI) on this site. That includes the search box, My notes and any message you send us.
What stays in your browser
To remember your choices, the site uses your browser’s own storage on your device for: codes you opened recently (Recents), codes you saved (Favorites), your notes (My notes) and your light or dark setting. This information never leaves your device through the site, and we cannot see it. You can delete it at any time by clearing your browsing data, and doing so deletes your notes as well. See How My notes works.
Search
The first time you click the search box, your browser downloads the search data (every code and the Alphabetic Index) from this site. After that, searching happens entirely on your device. The words you type are not sent to us or to anyone else. We cannot see them, and we do not log them.
What our host records
The site is delivered by Google Firebase Hosting. Like most web hosts, it processes standard technical information to deliver pages and keep the service running, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you request and the time of the request, and it may keep server logs. We do not ask the host for your name or any other personal details.
Email you send us
If you write to us, we receive your email address and your message, and we use them to read and answer it. Please do not include patient information. See Contact.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, such as which pages are viewed, roughly where visitors are located, and what browser or device they use. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and sends this usage information to Google. We use it only for site statistics. We do not use it to identify you, and we do not send it anything you type into the search box or My notes. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Google Search Console
We use Google Search Console to see how the site appears in Google Search, such as which searches lead to our pages. It reports on Google’s search results. It does not place anything in your browser while you use ICD10Ref.
Advertising
The site does not currently show ads. If we add advertising, we will update this page first and say what is collected and how to opt out.
Other websites
Some pages link to official sources such as CMS and NCHS. Those sites have their own privacy policies.
